Jason’s Story (Trainer: Keith Mullings)

In my search for a personal trainer it was key to me to find the right fit and be inspired and motivated by who I met. After hitting a personal brick wall on the day I realised that enough was enough I had to take drastic action for my personal health, wellbeing and fitness before nature gave me a nasty shock.

In May 2014 I knew straight away that Keith was the right trainer to help me achieve my goals. Keith sat down with me, and listened to me. I explained that having my own Company, and bringing up four young children took up all my time, left me tired, and led to me taking easy choices when it came to food and drink decisions that had seen me balloon to a very unhealthy 21 stone (6 stone overweight!!). We discussed nutrition and lifestyle and Keith gave me a very simple regime to follow that still gave me plenty of choice, and meant that when I attended business lunches I didn’t feel left out or uneasy. Of course there were major sacrifices to be made and the one thing I needed was to keep focused and motivated to carry on when previously faddy diets and no exercise had not had any effect at all – the difference between failure and success for me was having a personal trainer. I still sometimes have treats and I am certainly not living like a monk!

I train three times a week with Keith and he pushes me every session, but he knows just when to push and when to hold back. Every session is different and interesting, and sometimes, dare I say it, fun! I finish every session knowing that I’ve worked, at the same time having a feeling of achievement. As a result I’m stronger and fitter than I can ever remember being, I have lost over 6st in weight, and I’ve even taken to running, something that I never thought would happen. I can’t recommend Keith enough!

I have been training with Richard for almost 2 years and can honestly say that starting to train with him has been one of the best decisions I have made in life. I originally approached Richard when I wanted help in getting motivated to get fit. I’ve not only become stronger and generally fitter than I’ve ever been in my life, but I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the journey and strength training is now an integral part of my life. Weight loss has been a pleasant by-product.

I have learned a lot from Richard during the time we have been training together and have set new goals of things I want to achieve in the future. Above all, training with Richard is FUN and he has an amazing ability to find new and varied ways to challenge your body so you never get bored.

I would have no hesitation in recommending Richard to anyone regardless of age or initial level of fitness.

Before meeting Jesse I was 280lbs and at 5’4”, that’s big! I was active, going to the gym 6 days a week burning myself out on the cardio machines, over-eating and hating every day with a passion! Straight away Jesse identified the issues, cleaned up my diet, got me exercising smarter and I actually started to enjoy it. After I had lost several pounds he introduced me to weight training to really help shape me and minimize that sagging skin. I am now over 100 lbs lighter, healthier, no sagging skin and have a new found love for weight training. I am still losing, feel better than I did in my 20s (I’m now in my 40s) and know that I can achieve my goal of being in the best shape I can possibly be. Jesse is supportive and listens. He is not intimidating or loud – I cannot recommend him enough.

When I first met Jesse it struck me how knowledgeable he was when it comes to training, programming and nutrition so when I decided to enter the British Powerlifting Championships in 2010, I didn’t hesitate to seek his advice. Jesse was there to adjust and make sure I got the most out of my training. He believes in keeping things simple and the results really do speak for themselves. I not only won my division at the National Championships but also went onto win a World title the very same year. If your looking to maximize strength gains, he’s your man! Great trainer!
